Time Flies
It’s been two weeks since Tangled launched, and I’m still riding the emotional rollercoaster. Your messages, reviews, and support have meant the world. Seriously, you all are the best!
Let’s keep the good vibes going with this week’s Spill!
Stage Mom Moment:
Beyond books and algorithms, real life gave me a sweet plot twist this week. My youngest was in her first-ever school play production, and let me tell you—I was not emotionally prepared. Watching her and her friends on stage, all full of nerves and joy…it was the best feeling. And a good reminder that real life happens in the present, not on a screen or a page. A needed reminder for this writer/reader who is easily lost in the make-believe.
Speaking of Drama…
Launch month has brought plenty of it, and not the fun, musical-theater kind. My dog has unofficially become my emotional support editor/social media director, and judging by his tired, glasses-wearing face (see the newsletter cover photo), he’s just as done as I am. Between chasing down a mysteriously missing eBook, wrangling reviews, and checking Amazon more often than a teenager checks their texts, we’re both feeling the launch fatigue.
But like David, Josh, and Kate—the not-so-put-together but lovable characters in Charm City Threads—I press on: tired, slightly dramatic, and still full of heart. 💛
Two weeks in, Tangled is (mostly) out in the world…except the eBook, which is running fashionably late. And Woven? Apparently Amazon is shy about showing it under my name, so unless you’ve got a direct link, good luck finding it. (It is still free on KU though, so here you go!)
💛 Woven on KU: amazon.com/dp/B0DZYW3JJZ
💛 Tangled: amazon.com/dp/1949935914
It’s always something, right? But I’m hopeful things will get untangled soon. (See what I did there?)
In the meantime, if you’ve finished Woven or Tangled, it would mean the world to me if you left a quick review. Just a line or two helps others discover the series.
And ARC friends: if Tangled is crossed off your TBR, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Reviews truly make a difference.
Just for Fun
Here’s what brought a little joy (and kept me from unraveling) this week.
Podcast Vibes: You know how my books dig into messy lives, hidden motives, and the stories behind the stories? That’s probably why I like System Update with Glenn Greenwald. It’s like page-turning suspense, real-world edition. He’s not afraid to question the narrative, and neither are my characters. If you like truth-seeking with all the receipts, it might just be your next podcast obsession.
Books I'm Reading: Okay, I’ll admit this one’s a bit out there, but seriously, give it a try. I’m currently listening to The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning. Now, before you keep scrolling, hear me out. Despite the morbid-sounding title, this book is surprisingly light, practical, and even a little funny. It’s not about preparing for death so much as it’s about making space…for yourself, for what matters, and for the people you love. And honestly? That feels pretty aligned with everything Tangled explores: letting go of what weighs you down and choosing what (and who) gets to stay.
Quote of the Week: “Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.” — Seneca. Heartbreaking, yet beautiful, right? I’m thinking a lot about beginnings and endings with graduation season upon us. But if I’m being honest, I’m a middle dweller.
Beginnings are clumsy, endings are bittersweet, but the middle? That’s where all the good stuff happens. It’s where people grow, unravel, and figure out how to put the pieces back together. Just like David, Josh, and Kate. Just like life.
Meme of the Week: In honor of mothers everywhere…your job is endless, thankless, and 100% rewarding. You are doing God’s work and don’t ever forget it! I’m wishing each one of you not just a Happy Mother’s Day, but an abundance of blessings all year long.
