We Have Achieved Launch!
Friends, it has been a WEEK, let me tell you. I’ve been riding high since Tuesday and have yet to come down. What an amazing launch for Tangled, all thanks to you! So many friends and readers have reached out with kind words, generous reviews, and heartwarming thoughts about all things David, Josh, and Kate.
I love these characters (maybe a little too much), and it brings me great joy to share them with you. I hope that love comes through the pages and burrows deep into each of your hearts as you read their story.
From my heart to yours…thank you!!!
For this week’s Spill, I thought it would be fun to share a little behind-the-scenes thoughts, feelings, and…mishaps from the week. So, if you dare to peek inside my chaotic mind…read on!
Meet My PA
I have a personal assistant. Did you know that? She’s a tween, she’s tiny, and she’s a terrific social media manager, events coordinator, and designer of all things lovely and beautiful.
And yes, she’s my daughter.
Why am I telling you this? On the way to Saturday’s Tangled event at Barnes & Noble, it hit me how lucky I am to have her by my side. She’s been to nearly every book event, inspired more scenes and character quirks than she’ll ever realize, and most importantly, she keeps me on time, in makeup, and grounded.
She deserves big props for getting me through this last week (and every other week, honestly), and though she won’t read this newsletter, I am dedicating it to her.
Friends, if you’re lucky enough to have a daughter, give her an extra hug…they are truly gifts from God.
The Disaperating eBook
If you’ve peeked at Tangled on Amazon (and I hope you have), you probably noticed something...missing. No, the eBook didn’t vanish into thin air. It never launched. It’s there, just not there there.
Why? Excellent question. I’d explain, but that would require knowing what the heck is going on. Let’s just say the powers that be are working on it, and I’m hoping for the best.
Now, could this be frustrating for an author releasing her second book into the world? Absolutely. But after some deep breathing and dark coffee, I realized this is literally what I write about. Life. It’s messy, unpredictable, and rarely follows our timeline.
Honestly? It’s all a little…Tangled. And I think I’m all right with that.
So, stay tuned. When the eBook does finally go live, we’ll celebrate again. Because that is what we do!
Just for Fun
On to a few things that made me smile (or kept me sane) this week!
Podcast Vibes: There’s a podcast for everything, isn’t there? When I’m not knee-deep in romance, I’ve been diving into history (it really is wilder than fiction). Lately, I’m binging old episodes of Martyr Made and, wow. Let’s just say our high school textbooks left a lot out. Go ahead, get curious. You might never look at history the same way again!
Books I'm Reading: I recently finished Cupid Wore Snow Boots by Murray Siegel, a DMV gem of a writer. This book is packed with humor, heart, and Charm City charm. It’s got coming-of-age chaos, nostalgic vibes, and just the right dash of romance. Highly recommend!
Also, this week, I had a fun night out with some new bookish friends at a Corinne Michaels signing event for All Too Well. She was warm, funny, and so impressive! Definitely made me a new fan. All Too Well is next up on my TBR list!
Quote of the Week: “Anxiety does not come from thinking about the future, but from wanting to control it.” There’s debate on who this quote is attributed to, but regardless, it hit home this week as I navigated the ups and downs of launching Tangled. No matter how much I plan, life always adds its own twists (like not having an eBook!) Learning to release control and trust the process has been a growth point and a lesson well learned.
Meme of the Week: This week, I (tried) to kick my Starbucks habit. One full week without outside brew and... not gonna lie, it hurt. Maybe that’s why everything around me suddenly screams coffee. So here’s a little ode to the bean…sort of. I don’t know, it made me laugh…don’t judge!
