🍀 Happy St. Patrick’s Day! May your day be filled with good books, great company, and a little extra luck! 🌈📚. We’re talking about cursive, coming home, and getting out in the community in this week’s Spill. If you missed any previous issues, you can catch up here.
Let’s dive right in…

Signature Change:
As Tangled's release grows closer, I find myself more and more focused on promotion. Getting the word out. Social media posts, advertising, events…launching a book is a full-time job, and then some. This is not to say it isn’t an enjoyable process; it is just a time-consuming one.
For example, I signed dozens of signature plates for my publisher this week. Shout out to Arielle Haughee, the owner of Orange Blossom Publishing, who is AMAZING and supportive, and the best book champion an author could ask for. These bookplates will go inside copies of Tangled available only on Orange Blossom Publishing’s website! Want a gold-plated-author-signed copy?
Order it here. Quantities are limited!
Speaking of signatures, I changed mine. Is that weird? I never liked my signature. I never liked cursive, if I’m being honest. So, I’ve been working to change that. I’ve been practicing cursive (still horrible at it), and finally found a signature that feels more authentic and fits…I don’t know…me??? It’s a bit chaotic, kind of swirly, and inconsistent at best. But then, that’s kind of me these days.
Does anyone relate?
In other news, I told you about my new bookmark in last week’s Spill, and the physical copies have arrived!!! I’m still sort of amazed by modern technology. That I can conceive an idea, use an online design tool to create it, and then get hundreds of copies of said conceived idea delivered to my door within days?
Pretty cool.
Speaking of cool, how about joining my ARC team and reading Tangled BEFORE anyone else??? If you’d like to read, review, and spread the word about Tangled, I’d be thrilled to have you join. You’ll get an early look at the story, and your feedback can help make the launch even better.

Let’s talk about home:
Last week I mentioned how my son was HIT BY A CAR on his college campus. He’s fine now, but I’m still reeling. We were able to bring him home for spring break, and I can’t describe the relief, having all my kiddos under one roof again.
Home. It’s a bitter word.
This is a Josh quote from Tangled. He’s speaking metaphorically about the idea of home. A place, but also a state of mind. Thoughts of home can conjure joy and sadness. Peace, as well as pain. A complicated place you long to return, yet often run from.
When my son came home, he unpacked, ate, and promptly fell asleep on the couch. I couldn’t help thinking of Josh’s words. How thankful I am we’ve fostered a home where our kids feel comfortable. A home from which they may run, but only so far.
A home that is a resting place.
In Woven, David, Josh, and Kate finally find a place to call home—the Canton Catastrophe (or the Shit Box, depending on who you ask). A crumbling row home, but a fresh start nonetheless. A place to rebuild, make amends, and forge a future—together.
But home isn’t always a safe haven.
Tangled picks up where Woven left off, with these broken souls trying to put the pieces of their lives—and their home—back together as hope battles heartbreak, and determination collides with defeat.
But second chances don’t last forever.
Can they find their way back before everything falls apart for good?
